So, your application has just been approved and you’re ready to start making connections. Here’s a guide on everything you need to know to kickstart your employment:
How do I find work on Hireup?
1. Log in to Hireup
When you log into your Hireup account, you'll be directed to your dashboard. Here you'll be able to access the search, booking, job board and messages functions. To update your settings click your name in the top right.
2. Make connections
Use the job board and search function to find and connect with clients in your area. If you like a job on the job board you can click 'I'm interested' to notify the person. You can also send a message by clicking their name (which will direct you to their profile) and then on 'message.' Messaging also works when searching for users. Read more about messaging here.
3. Meet and greets
After you've made a connection on the platform, the client may arrange a meet and greet. This is usually a 15 minute unpaid catch up to meet in person and is a great way to get to know each other, discuss support needs and comfortability. Read more about meet and greets here.
4. Bookings
If your meet and greet went well and you’d both like to book a shift, the client will create a booking. This will appear in bookings which you’ll need to accept or decline. Read more about bookings here.
5. Support plans
Once you've accepted the booking, you're required to read the client's support plan. Support plans outline support needs, medical and emergency considerations and insight into how to best support that individual. Support plans will be different for every person you support. Click on ‘show support plan’ to view theirs. Read more about support plans here.
