Hireup is built on effective communication, and the platform makes it easy to send and receive messages to build relationships with other community members.
Send messages
You can start a conversation on the platform using a few different methods:
From a user's profile:
- Find the person through Jobs or Search, then:
- Click on their name to open their profile.
- Click the ‘Message’ button.
- Write a message and click ‘Send’.
From your navigation and dashboard:
You can quickly message people by clicking the ‘Message’ button in these sections:
- Your team (found on your Dashboard)
- Team (from the main navigation menu)
- Saved (from the main navigation menu)
Read and respond to messages
- Navigate to Messages in the top right of the main navigation menu.
- Select a conversation from the left-hand side.
- Write a message and click ‘Send’.
Report messages or archive conversations
When you report a message, our team will review and follow up as required. When you archive a conversation, it is removed from your conversation list. If someone from the conversation sends you a new message, the conversation will reappear in your conversation list.
There are different ways to report and archive, depending on which platform you use.
Desktop Web Platform
- To report: Hover over a message, and a menu will appear to the right. Click on it and select ‘Report’.
- To archive: Click the ‘Archive’ button in the top right of a conversation.
Tablet/Mobile Web Platform
- To report: Tap ‘Report’ to the right of the message.
- To archive: Tap the menu at the top right of a conversation and select ‘Archive conversation’.
Apps (iOS/Android)
- To report: Long-press on a message and select “Report message”.
- To archive: Swipe left on the conversation and tap the ‘Archive’ button.
