What is the NDIS Worker Screening?
The NDIS Worker Screening Check is a national approach to screening disability workers. It is starting nationwide from the 1st of February, 2021.
Do I need the NDIS Worker Screening Check?
As a Hireup disability support worker, you will eventually need the Worker Screening Check. The worker screening is a way to help ensure that support workers are safe, checked and verified.
All states and territories will begin the NDIS Worker Screening Check on 1 February 2021. Transitional and special arrangements are in place for all states and territories until the NDIS Worker Screening Check commences.
How much does the NDIS Worker Screening cost?
The cost differs between states. We’ll share all the information with you as it becomes available.
When should I apply?
According to the NDIS, Worker Screening applications will be available after 1 February, 2021. The Worker Screening Check is applied for by the individual (you), and confirmed by the employer (Hireup). Hireup will confirm your Screening Check details when your support worker application is complete and ready for confirmation. The NDIS will then review your Screening.
Hireup will advise all new and existing support workers on what is required, and when to apply, once the screening has rolled out after the 1st of February, 2021.
