What is the NDIS Worker Screening?
The NDIS Worker Screening Check is a national approach to screening disability workers that rolled out on February 1 2021.
The Worker Screening Check is applied for by the individual (you), and confirmed by the employer (Hireup). Hireup will confirm your Screening Check details when your support worker application is complete and ready for confirmation. The NDIS will then review your Screening.
Do I need the NDIS Worker Screening Check?
As a Hireup disability support worker, you will eventually need the Worker Screening Check. If you have existing documentation that is valid for your employment with Hireup, you may not need the worker screening straight away. Visit this page for more information.
When should I apply?
The NDIS worker screening check was rolled out on 1 February 2021, however existing state based screenings may continue to be valid and accepted depending on the transitional arrangements of the state that you work in.
As the NDIS worker screening can take up to 2 months to be processed depending on your state, you should apply for the worker screening well before your existing documentation expires.
