Yes, we require our support workers to have a valid First Aid certificate.
To better support the safety of our community, from October 2023 we've updated our policy to require all workers to have a First Aid Certification (a CPR only certification will no longer be accepted).
Hireup can accept a current First Aid certificate with the following course codes up until the expiry date on the document:
Suspended course codes:
- HLTAID003 Provide First Aid - valid for 3 years from completion date
- HLTAID004 Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting - valid for 3 years from completion date
- HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid - valid for 3 years from completion date
New course codes
On 15 October 2020, the above course codes were superseded and replaced with new course codes. Hireup can accept a current First Aid certificate with the following course codes:
- HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support - valid for 3 years from completion date
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid - valid for 3 years from completion date
- HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting - valid for 3 years from completion date
- HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in a Remote or Isolated Site - valid for 3 years from completion date
- HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid - valid for 12 months from completion date
Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) may enroll and train individuals in the superseded courses up until 15 October 2021. If you complete a course in a superseded code before this date your certificate will still be valid until its expiry. CBD College is a nationally recognised RTO that runs one-day courses daily. If you currently don’t hold a valid First Aid certificate, find a location near you.
Registered Health Practitioners
We can accept an AHPRA registration for nurses and paramedics. You will need to supply your registration details and relevant training certificates. You can upload your registration certificate/details in place of your First Aid if you don’t have one.
