The state where you will work determines the type of state screening(s) you may need to hold. Examples of state screenings are a Working with Children Check or a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
ACT State Screenings
To provide support in the ACT, you will need to hold a valid Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card issued before the 1st of February, 2021, or a valid WWVP Card issued after the 1st of February, 2021 for the purpose of providing NDIS Activities in the ACT.
As our Support Workers are paid employees of Hireup, we cannot accept a WWVP Card for volunteer purposes. A new WWVP Card is valid for 5 years and allows you to work with all ages in the ACT.

NSW State Screenings
To support people in New South Wales you will need to hold the following checks, depending on the age group you want to support:
- If you would like to support someone over 18 years of age only, you will need to hold an NDIS Worker Screening.
- If you want to support someone under the age of 18 in New South Wales, you will need to hold a NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) for employment purposes and an NDIS Worker Screening. As our support workers are paid employees of Hireup, we do not accept volunteer checks.
WWCCs are valid for 5 years. You can apply for a WWCC, or to update your existing check from volunteer to employment here.
NT State Screenings
To support people in the Northern Territory you will need to hold the following, depending on the age group you want to support:
- If you want to support someone over 18 years of age only, you will need to hold an NDIS Worker Screening.
- If you want to support someone under the age of 18 in the Northern Territory, you will need to hold an Ochre Card employment purposes as well as an NDIS Worker Screening.

QLD State Screenings
To support people in Queensland you will need to hold the following, depending on the age group you want to support:
- If you want to support someone over 18 years of age only, you will need to hold an NDIS Worker Screening.
- If you want to support someone under 18 years of age only, you will need to hold a Paid Blue Card and an NDIS Worker Screening.
- If you want to support people of all ages, you will need to hold both a Paid Blue Card and an NDIS Worker Screening

As our Support Workers are paid employees of Hireup, we cannot accept a Volunteer Blue Cards and volunteer NDIS Worker Screenings.
SA State Screenings
To support people in South Australia you will need to hold the following, depending on the age group you want to support:
- If you want to support someone over 18 years of age only, you will need to hold a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- If you want to support someone under 18 years of age only, you will need to hold a Working With Children Check as well as a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- If you want to support people of all ages, you will need to hold both a Working With Children Check as well as a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.

TAS State Screenings
To provide support in Tasmania, you will need to hold a valid Register to Work With Vulnerable People (RWVP) Card issued for Child and Vulnerable Adult-Related (NDIS endorsed) Activity.
As our Support Workers are paid employees of Hireup, we do not accept volunteer cards, therefore your card must be issued for employment purposes. An NDIS Worker Screening (NDIS endorsement) will also match the validity of your RWVP card.

To support people in Victoria you will need to hold the following, depending on the age group you want to support:
- If you want to support people 18 years and over in Victoria, you will need to hold an NDIS Worker Screening.
- If you want to support people under the age of 18 in Victoria, you will need to hold an NDIS Worker Screening as well as hold a VIC Working With Children Check (WWCC) for employment purposes.

To support people in Western Australia you will need to hold the following, depending on the age group you want to support:
- If you want to support someone 18 years and over, you will need to hold an NDIS Worker Screening.
- If you want to support someone under the age of 18, you will need to hold an NDIS Worker Screening as well as hold a WA Working With Children Check (WWCC) for employment purposes.
As our Support Workers are paid employees of Hireup, we do not accept volunteer checks.
WWCCs are valid for 3 years. To apply for a WWCC or to update your existing check from volunteer to employment, please contact hello@hireup.com.au first as Hireup will need to be part of the WWCC application process.
