As an employer and service provider, registered with the NDIS, we need to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients and workers. That’s why we require that all of our support workers provide specific documents (see list below), along with 100 points of ID, before being approved onto the platform.
We’ll ask you to upload all of your documents to Cited. They are our trusted partner and verifier, and will ensure that your documents are cleared and current. If you don’t have these documents already, you should apply for them as soon as possible.

If you choose to provide Transport Support, you’ll also need a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (previously known as a National Police Check). If you choose to work with children and teenagers, you’ll also need a valid Working with Children’s check.

Typically, a 30 minute online application, however, applicants in NSW and WA will need to visit either Service NSW or the Department of Transport (WA) to make payment and show ID. When applying you will need to add Hireup’s NDIS ID: 4-3LLK-1901. Working with Vulnerable People Check (TAS and ACT applicants only) |
This is required to work with all ages and doubles as a Working with Children Check (in TAS and ACT only) If you’re in TAS (be sure to tick ‘Child and Vulnerable Adult-Related (NDIS endorsed) Activity’). Cost is $124.60 If you’re in ACT (be sure to tick ‘yes’ to ‘NDIS Activity’ when applying for / renewing your card). Cost is $146 |

Transitional Requirements for the NDIS Worker Screening
Most support workers on Hireup will need an NDIS Worker Screening. However, there are some instances where workers can provide documents they already have (such as previously issued disability screenings) in lieu of an NDIS Worker Screening. These are called ‘transitional’ documents.

Hireup accepts most visas with unrestricted work rights, however there are several visa types/restrictions that we are currently unable to accept.

FAQ’s
I’ve applied for my NDIS Worker Screening but it hasn’t been verified yet. Can Hireup please verify this for me?
Hireup will verify your NDIS Worker Screening application as long as you have created an account with us. Applications can take up to a week to reach Hireup for verification, however, if you have not received an update after 1 week, please contact your state screening unit.
I’ve uploaded my documents to Cited, now what?
Before you can finalise your application, you will need to upload all your requested documents to Cited. Cited will then verify your documents, which may take 24-72 hours. Once your documents have been verified, you’ll receive an email.
Please log into your Cited account to check the status of your documents, and stay up to date with any Cited emails you receive. You can also log into your Hireup Application dashboard to check if you can progress onto the next stage of the application.

Can I complete my application to become a Support Worker while I'm outside of Australia?
Yes, as long as you can provide an Australian address and phone number, you can complete your application while overseas.
You must be in Australia to provide support via Hireup.
