Build your team
The most successful providers on Hireup think about Hireup support workers as an extension of their team - a pool of workers that they can call on to cover vacancies, support growth into a new site or cover an unexpected absence in their roster.
We strongly encourage you to take some time at the start of your Hireup journey to shortlist and select the workers on Hireup that are the best fit for your service. Post a job describing what you’re looking for and invite workers who look suitable to a meet and greet. If they seem like the right workers to support your service, you can save their profiles on Hireup so you can easily find them again.
When you do have a shift come up, you simply message the workers you’ve saved to see if they’re available.
Get Hireup logins into the hands of the right people in your service
There’s often multiple people in your organisation who would need to look for back-up workers over the course of a year. The more people who have access to Hireup and can message and book the workers you’ve shortlisted the better. The last thing you want is for the one person who has the Hireup login to be away when you urgently need a worker.
Your relationship manager can work with you to discuss how to structure your account so that the right people have access to Hireup. Sometimes it’s the HR/People & Culture team that is key, whereas other providers give logins to staff who are closer to the delivery of the service (e.g. House Managers in Supported Independent Living). Every organisation is different - Hireup is flexible and ready to set up the right structure for you.
Work with us on training
Are there specific training modules that you would like Hireup workers to have done before they do a shift in your service? We’re open to working with you to supplement Hireup’s training with specific modules that you train your own staff in.
These supplementary modules might be related to a specific type of disability that your service specialises in, or could relate to a specific type of support (e.g. medication management). Your relationship manager would be delighted to explore how we make this happen.
Make friends with your relationship manager
Your relationship manager is a dedicated Hireup staff member who is there to help you get the most out of the Hireup platform. They can help you and your team to understand how to use Hireup, build your team of Hireup support workers, structure your account in the best way and much more.
Make sure you get in touch with your relationship manager and let them know if there’s anything they can do to help you get the most out of Hireup!
