Required training
It’s a requirement for all active Hireup support workers to complete the following six training modules in Hireup Academy:
- Working with Hireup
- Working Safely
- Safeguarding Against Harm
- Infection Control
- Manual Handling
- Mental Health & Wellbeing
Training on Hireup Academy is available 24/7 for your convenience. You are able to start and stop modules to suit your lifestyle. You are required to complete the training on a weekday between 6am - 8pm, in a two-hour block. After completing these modules, you will be paid for two hours at the weekday rate after your first completed booking is approved.
Where can I find and complete the required training?
The required training will become available once you accept an upcoming booking. To complete the training simply click through to Hireup Academy and complete the six required training modules: ‘Working with Hireup', ‘Working Safely’, ‘Safeguarding Against Harm’, ‘Infection Control’, ‘Manual Handling’ and ‘Mental Health & Wellbeing’. If you want to commence the modules prior to receiving your first booking, search for them by name.
Why are these training modules required?
These training modules are essential to ensure our support workers provide safe, effective, and high-quality care. By completing these modules, you'll gain the skills and knowledge needed to meet regulatory standards and handle various situations confidently. This training helps you deliver exceptional support to our clients, build trust, and stay up-to-date with best practices. Plus, you'll learn to navigate the Hireup platform smoothly, making your work easier and more integrated within our community. Your professional development is important to us, and these modules are a key part of helping you grow and succeed with Hireup.
What happens if the required training isn’t completed within 7 days?
Support Workers will have 7 days to complete the required training. After 7 days, they will be soft-locked on the platform. This means they cannot accept any new bookings for Clients. If training is not completed within a further 7 days, they will be hard-locked on the platform, and any bookings will be cancelled. Reminders are sent to the Support Worker warning of these consequences, and the Client will be informed. To lift either lock, the Support Worker will need to complete the training. Within 3 hours of completing the training, the lock will be lifted.
How much will I be paid?
Once you have completed the required training, you will be paid for two hours at the weekday rate with your next pay. Applicable tax will be included. You are required to complete the training on a weekday between 6am - 8pm, in a two hour block.
When will I be paid?

How do I tell Hireup that I have completed these modules?
Once you have completed the six required modules, our system will pick this up and ensure you are paid in the next fortnightly pay run and that restrictions will not be placed on your account. It can take up to three hours for our system to pick up that your modules have been completed. If you are still waiting to receive payment within a fortnight of completing the training please contact us.
