Get help in managing a booking from start to finish. Learn how to make, edit, approve and cancel bookings on the platform.
Make booking
Check out the video below to find out how to make a booking:
- To create a booking, select the support worker you would like to work with through the Search function or by selecting an interested worker from Your Shortlist found on the left hand column within a job posting
- Click the name or photo of the support worker you would like to work with
- To book a support worker, click the Book button on their profile below their name and to the right of their photo
- Request a booking by completing start date, start time and finish time. Other filters including repeat booking and vehicle allowance can be added or removed at this stage
- The support worker will confirm or decline your request
Approve booking
After working the booking, your support worker will submit their hours. They may also bill for travel during the booking, if they provide transport in their own vehicle. Once a booking has been worked and your support worker has submitted their hours, please ensure you approve the booking within two weeks.
To approve a booking
- Navigate to the Bookings menu located at the top of the website
- Locate the booking you are wanting to approve and click Edit
- Review the booking by checking the hours are correct and vehicle allowance has been added (if needed). Please note, any changes to the booking need to be made before it is approved
- Click Approve to submit the shift to payroll
Edit booking

- Navigate to the Bookings menu located at the top of the website
- The Bookings approved column will allow you to approve, reject or edit your support workers' submitted hours, once the shift has been completed
- To Edit each individual booking, click the edit button
- Add text to your request by using the open field box and clicking Send. This will send the booking back to your worker to edit and submit. They can then send back to you for approval
Change booking details
Any shifts that need to be edited before the time of the booking, will need to be cancelled by you and then rebooked with the correct details. This must be communicated between you and the support worker before the shift starts.
Any changes that need to be made after the shift has been completed (including adding kilometres or time changes) will need to be entered before the shift is approved by you. Any changes that need to be made after the shift has taken place the support worker would need to make these changes
Cancel booking

Through Bookings
- Navigate to the Bookings tab located within the top menu on the website
- Click the Requested booking to be cancelled from the provided list
- To cancel, click the Cancel button
- To confirm cancellation, click Cancel Booking. Please refer to the Hireup cancellation policy before cancelling any shifts
Through Dashboard
You can also cancel a booking that occurs within the next week from the Dashboard screen.
- Your Hireup week panel located at the bottom of the Dashboard screen
- Click the booking in which you wish to cancel
- Click the Cancel button that allows you to Cancel booking, Cancel all repeat bookings or Go back
You will only be able to cancel a booking before it has happened. After the booking has occurred, changes can only be made by your support worker.
