How do I fund my Home Care with Hireup?
Hireup enables older Australians to connect with reliable and verified aged care support workers that suit their individual needs and interests.
There are two main ways to fund Aged Care supports with Hireup:
- Using Government funding through the Support at Home program
- Paying Privately (Self-Funded)
1. Government funding through the Support at Home program
The Government funded Support at Home program enables older Australians to continue living at home by providing support and care services.
Note: The ‘Support at Home Program’ is replacing the ‘Home Care Package’ as of 1st November, 2025.
When your Support at Home program funding gets approved, you’ll need to:
Step 1: Choose an approved Home Care Provider. You must sign up with a Home Care Provider who will hold and manage your funding.
Step 2: Choose how to manage your package: You have two options to choose from:

*Your Provider can use Hireup to engage workers on behalf of their clients.
If you choose to self-manage then you can use Hireup to find and book support workers that suit your needs and preferences.

You can pay privately through Hireup while you wait for your funding. 1. Get started by creating a free Hireup account. Once you’re approved, you can search and book support workers. 2. If you develop a great relationship with your Hireup support workers, you can bring them with you when you get your HCP. Simply ask your provider to become one of Hireup’s Home Care Provider Partners and we’ll handle the rest with your HCP. 3. Your chosen Home Care Provider will host your package. We will send invoices to them directly after your timesheets have been approved on Hireup, so you don’t need to do any extra work. |

Your Home Care Provider hosts your package, but you and/or your loved one has chosen to self-manage. Because you manage your support and services, you can use Hireup. |
1. Get started by creating a free Hireup account. Once you’re approved, you can search for and book support workers in your area that suit your needs. 2. If you’d like someone you know to provide support to you, get them to apply to be a Hireup Support Worker for free. 3. Your chosen Home Care Provider will host your funding. We will send invoices to them directly after your timesheets have been approved on Hireup, so you don’t need to do any extra work. |

Choose an approved Home Care Provider first. If you’d like to use Hireup for your supports, make sure you choose to be self-managed. |
Once you’ve chosen an approved Home Care Provider, create a free Hireup account and start to search for and book support workers in your area that suit your needs. |
2. Pay Privately (Self-Funded)
Some people choose to pay privately, because they:
- Don’t qualify for Government funding
- Are waiting for their Government funding to be approved and need immediate support
- Want the most choice, control and flexibility in their support needs, so choose to self-fund
How it works
- Start by creating a free Hireup Account. Be assured that there are no hidden admin fees and no lock-in contracts. When you use Hireup, you only pay for the shifts you book.
- Search for workers in your area that suit your unique needs. At Hireup, we promise a higher standard of care. Our support workers are employed by Hireup (not contractors), meaning they are registered, vetted and experienced.
- Book workers when you need support. Once you’ve found workers that suit you, book them for a shift and get started! You only pay for what you use.
