If you indicate you have specialised support requirements on your Hireup profile, and that Hireup Support Workers are required to provide this support we’ll ask you for copies of relevant specialised support plans. Examples of these plans include epilepsy management, bowel care or positive behaviour support plans.
Hireup will follow-up with you each year to make sure the specialised support plans you share are current and up to date. This helps ensure you receive safe and effective support from your workers.
Who develops a specialised support plan?
Specialised support plans are developed with your relevant healthcare professional.
Hireup has some specialised support plan templates that you can share with your healthcare professional for them to complete with you. The templates are below, along with a quick overview of which healthcare professional is best suited to complete each plan with you:
- Bowel care plan: your Treating Doctor or Registered Nurse (such as a Stoma Care Nurse)
- Catheter care plan: your Treating Doctor or Registered Nurse (such as a Catheter Care Nurse)
- Diabetes management plan: your Treating Doctor or Diabetes Nurse
- Enteral (tube) feeding plan: your Dietician or Treating Doctor
- Mealtime management plan: your Speech Pathologist
- Nil by mouth mealtime management plan: your Speech Pathologist
- Medication authority form: your GP or Treating Doctor
If you already have a specialised support plan in place, you can share a copy of this with Hireup - it doesn’t need to be on the Hireup templates! To access templates for other specialised support types (for example, anaphylaxis), please email hello@hireup.com.au.
How do I upload my specialised support plan on Hireup?
To upload or update your specialised support plan:
- Login to Hireup
- Click your profile image in the top right corner
- Click “settings”
- Click “documents” on the left
- Click the drop down for the plan you’re uploading
- Click “upload file” and upload your plan
Uploading plans with your phone camera
If you’re uploading your plan by taking photos with your camera, you’ll need to put your photos into a single PDF file before uploading.
To do this on an iPhone:
1. Take a photo of each page in your plan.
2. Open your Photos app and select the plan photos.
3. Select ‘Share’ and then ‘Print’.
4. Select ‘Print’ again (no need to choose a printer) and then ‘Save to files’.
5. Upload your single document file as above.
If you don’t have an iPhone, try Google searching “merge photos PDF” with your phone type.

Uploading plans or documents
If you’re uploading multiple plans or documents we recommend you merge them into one PDF document before uploading. To do this:
1. Google search “merge into PDF”.
2. Use any of the free merge tools to upload, merge and download a single PDF document.
3. Upload your single document file as above.

Once you're approved to make bookings on Hireup, any approved plans will automatically be shared with your booked support workers. We take your privacy and security seriously – only approved, logged-in workers who've booked with you can access these plans, and they will only remain available as long as you have upcoming bookings with that support worker.
