Specialised Support Allowance
Our specialised support allowance applies to shifts with eligible clients who have specialised support needs which require our support workers to complete mandatory training. The base price for specialised support can be found on our pricing page, with support workers receiving an additional fixed amount per hour on Hireup’s base rate of pay when working with these clients, plus superannuation. Why do we have a Specialised Support Allowance?
At Hireup, we’re on a mission to attract and reward great support workers so that our clients continue to receive the best available support. We’ve consistently heard how much our clients value their support workers, and want to be able to reward them for the difference they make in individual lives. We’ve also heard from many clients that it can be hard to attract and retain the best workers on Hireup, particularly when the market has become as competitive as it has in recent years.
The specialised support allowance means your current workers earn more when working with you compared to other clients, and it means that your job posts will attract the best workers going forward.
This specialised support allowance is offered on a discretionary basis so that we can ensure it is fit for purpose. As a result, Hireup may amend, replace or remove the specialised support allowance (including the amount of this allowance) where necessary.

Our specialised support pricing applies to certain clients who have specialised support needs which require our support workers to complete mandatory training.

Mandatory training is required to work with specialised support clients
As an NDIS registered provider, we are required to ensure that support workers have completed minimum training in order to work with specialised support clients and earn this allowance. These training modules are available through Hireup Academy.
Support workers are notified by Hireup when additional mandatory training is required. However, we also encourage all of our support workers to continue using the Hireup platform and Hireup Academy to continue honing their skills!
