How do I access Hireup Academy?
You will firstly need to ensure that you have the Hireup App downloaded to your smart phone as this is the only way you can access Hireup Academy.
Once you have the Hiruep app on your phone, start by logging in and clicking the drop-down menu under your profile picture.
From the menu, select Hireup Academy. Once you have done this, you will automatically be redirected to the Hireup Academy homepage.
How do I know which modules I need to do?
The mandatory training you are required to complete will be listed on your Hireup Academy dashboard when you first log in under required learning.
Please note that the required modules that you need to complete will only appear after you have finished your first shift with a client on the Hireup Platform.
Are all modules mandatory?
Any training that falls under the ‘required’ category on your Hireup Academy dashboard has been assigned to you and is considered mandatory training.
The following modules will be assigned to you and are mandatory.
New Starter Modules - all Support Workers must complete the new starter modules after finishing their first shift with Hireup. There are 6 new starter modules and will take 2 hours to complete.

- Safeguarding Against Harm (formerly ‘Preventing Abuse and Neglect’)
- Infection Control
- Manual Handling Introduction
- Mental Health & Wellbeing
Specialised Support Modules - Specialised support modules are automatically assigned to specific Support Workers based on the type of clients they are working with and any specialised support needs those clients may have. If these trainings are assigned to you and appear in your Hireup Academy homepage, completion is mandatory within 7 days of the training being assigned to you.

How often will new modules be assigned to me?
Mandatory training will be assigned to you after you complete your first shift. From time to time, you may also be assigned further mandatory training if the client you are supporting has a specific funding type or specialised support requirement.
Will I get notified if a new module is assigned to me?
Yes. When you are assigned new training, you will be notified via email and a notification in the Hireup App, which will advise that training has been assigned and is required to be completed.
How much time do I have to complete a mandatory module that is assigned to me?
You will have 7 days to complete any mandatory training. If training is not completed within 7 days, you will not be able to accept any new bookings. If your mandatory training is not completed within 7 days, you will not be able to use the Hireup app to make or accept any bookings.

When is training assigned to me?
Mandatory training will be assigned to you after you have completed your first shift on the Hireup Platform.
Additional training might be assigned if you assist a client who has specific support or specialised needs.
Am I still able to complete my training if my account has been blocked because I did not complete it within the 7 days?
Yes. You can still log into Hireup Academy and complete any outstanding learning that may be showing on your Hireup Academy homepage. Once your learning module/s has been completed any blocks on your account will be removed within several hours of finishing the module.
Can I do as many non-mandatory courses as I wish?
Of course, we encourage you to use Hireup Academy to grow your knowledge and submit feedback around learning opportunities you would like to see in the future.
Modules of interest may appear on your homepage based on your choices selected around interests and skills. You can also use the search icon to search for modules by keywords - Hireup Academy is always adding new content.
Do I get paid for doing training?
Yes.
All new Support Workers are required to complete new starter training online via Hireup Academy. New starter training consists of 6 modules. Upon completion of the new starter training, Support Workers will be paid two hours at their contracted base rate of pay. New starter training will be assigned after your first shift is completed on the platform.
Some Support Workers will also be required to complete specialised support training modules. Training for specialised support modules is paid at a Support Workers contracted base rate of pay per the below table;

How do I check which courses I have completed?
There are 2 ways to check what learning you have completed.
You can see both assigned learning and all historical learning (including non-mandatory training) by navigating to your learn page from your profile on Hireup Academy.
This will show you the historical learning you have completed and any assigned learning you may have due.
If you click on the ‘certification’ tab under learn, you will be able to view all completed learning which has been assigned to you.
Do I get a certificate for the training I have completed in Hireup Academy?
Hireup Academy does not offer certificates. However, you can click ‘export certification’ on your certification page and export a PDF of the current learning completed. The PDF version can be used as evidence for course completion.
Troubleshooting:
I have completed a course, and the module isn't updating. What do I do?
Ensure you have a strong internet connection, ideally, ensure you are completing the module on wi-fi. You can try closing the browser and reopening; this may trigger the status to be updated.

I’m not able to view videos in the module.
If the videos in the learning module aren't uploading or working properly, try the following;
- Try to clear your cache on the device you're using. The cache settings can typically be found in your options setting in the browser you are using.
- Try restarting the course
- Try an alternative browser
- If possible, try an alternative device
When I load the course, I get a blank screen.
If you come across this issue, try the following steps to help resolve it.

Can I get an extension to complete the training?
No. Mandatory training is a key area of compliance and must be done within 7 days of it being assigned to you. You will be unable to accept bookings on the platform until it is completed in the noted time frame.

You have unlimited attempts to complete quizzes on Hireup Academy. Please take your time and try again.
