1. About these guidelines
At Hireup, we recognise the potential of emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to streamline everyday tasks, enhance communication and expand knowledge.
While we support the responsible exploration and use of AI tools, our highest priority remains the safety, privacy and dignity of every Hireup User.
AI technologies must be used ethically, transparently, and in compliance with Australian Privacy Laws and your confidentiality obligations. You must never compromise an individual’s personal or sensitive information by inputting it into an AI Tool.
2. AI Usage by Hireup Users
If you choose to use AI tools to assist with your activities on the Platform - such as helping you create and draft job posts, your Hireup Profile, shift notes or messages to other Hireup Users, you must adhere to the following guidelines:
- You must never input personal, health or identifying details about other individuals into an AI tool. This includes but is not limited to names, contact details, NDIS numbers, health or disability information, or any other information that identifies a person.
- AI tools make mistakes. They can produce content that is inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate. You (the person using the AI tool) are fully responsible for your use of the AI Tool and any outputs. You are responsible for all content you post or send on the Platform, regardless of whether AI helped create it.
- You must review and verify all AI-generated output for accuracy, honesty and appropriateness before using that output.
- Hireup’s Terms of Use and the terms of the applicable agreement in place between you and Hireup apply to all content shared on the Hireup Platform. Using AI tools does not alter your obligations to meet standard obligations regarding safety, privacy, confidentiality, and respectful communication.
A breach of these guidelines may result in the termination of your agreement with Hireup and, in the case of Support Workers, disciplinary action being taken against you, up to and including the termination of your employment.
3. Recommendation: Disable Data Training Settings
If you choose to use an AI tool, Hireup recommends, before entering any content into it, that you change the settings of your AI tool to prevent it from using your inputs to train the AI tool's underlying models. Instructions on how you can change the settings for the main AI tools in circulation are below:
ChatGPT (Open AI)
- Steps: Select your Profile Icon > Settings > Data Controls
- Action: Toggle off “Improve the model for everyone”
Google Gemini
- Steps: Select Settings > Gemini Apps activity
- Action: Select Turn Off or Turn off and delete activity
Claude (Anthropic)
- Steps: Select your Profile Icon > Settings > Privacy
- Action: Toggle off “Help improve our AI models”
Microsoft Copilot
- Steps: Select your Profile Icon > Settings > Privacy
- Action: Toggle off “Training on conversation activity” and “Training on voice conversations”
