As a Hireup Support Worker, you have committed to providing high-quality support for your Clients. You have also committed to following the Hireup policies and procedures, including our Code of Conduct.
The Hireup Policies and Procedures have been developed to make sure that Hireup is a safe, secure and happy community to be a part of. In line with the Support Worker Performance Management policy, failure to follow these policies and procedures may result in progressive disciplinary action up to and including the suspension and/or termination of your access to our online platform and the subsequent termination of your employment.
Suspension or termination may happen for any of the reasons listed below:
- Your profile includes offensive, defamatory, derogatory, misleading, deceptive or inappropriate material.
- You use the Hireup Platform to send secure messages for a purpose, which is not related to your requirements for support services (for example, to sell goods or services to someone).
- The information you have provided about your support experience or capabilities is not accurate.
- You do not contribute to a safe working environment for your Clients and other people in the workplace.
- You engage in or perform activities that are unlawful or outside of the Support Worker Job Description and/or Hireup policies and procedures.
- You do not act honestly in accepting and confirming completed bookings.
- You falsely claim that support services have been provided when they have not been.
- You propose or accept an arrangement where support is provided and paid outside of the Hireup platform.
- You disclose private or personal information about Hireup or a Hireup Client to an external third party.
The above list is not exhaustive and Hireup reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account depending on and proportionate to the nature of each situation, the particular performance concerns, the potential for risk or harm and any other factors deemed relevant.
In some instances, matters may be deemed as serious misconduct. Serious misconduct may include, but is not limited to:
- causing serious and imminent risk to the health and safety of another person or to the reputation or profits of Hireup
- deliberately behaving in a way that is inconsistent with continuing your employment or contravenes the Hireup Code of Conduct or any other applicable policies or procedures.
In cases of misconduct and/or serious misconduct, the nature of the concerns may deem that progressive disciplinary action in line with Hireup’s Support Worker Performance Management Policy is not appropriate. In these instances, an investigation will be conducted if the circumstances deem necessary and a determination will be made thereafter. Outcomes may include any level of a written warning up to and including the immediate termination of employment and the subsequent deactivation of an account on the platform.
Suspension
If Hireup is made aware of any incidents or issues, which could be a breach of our Code of Conduct or any Hireup Policy or Procedure, we may suspend your access to our platform and your arrangement with us.
If your account and subsequent access to the platform is suspended, Hireup will:
- Get in touch to tell you the reason(s) for the suspension.
- Make the best effort possible to contact your Clients to develop a continuity of care plan for your Clients including cancelling any bookings which are scheduled during the suspension period.
- Conduct a review and investigation into the incident or issue.
- Keep you informed of the progress of the incident or investigation.
- Advise you of the outcome of any review or investigation, which could include reinstatement or termination of your account and access to the Hireup Platform.
Casual Support Workers are not entitled to be paid during any period that their access to the platform is suspended, including for any impacted bookings. Hireup may offer to make a payment in exceptional circumstances at our sole and absolute discretion. Permanent Support Workers will be paid in accordance with the terms of their employment agreement.
Termination
If Hireup is made aware of any incidents or issues, which constitute a serious breach of our Policies or Procedures, we reserve the right to terminate your access to our platform and your employment with Hireup. - Advise you in writing of the reason(s) for termination.
- Cancel any future bookings.
- Pay out any and all outstanding entitlements if applicable.
