Our commitment
At Hireup, we take action to foster a workplace, environment and culture where everyone belongs and is reflective of the community we support.
Through intentional policies, practices, and initiatives, we create ways for each person to contribute and be heard, to amplify diverse voices, to ensure opportunities are available to all and to actively seek diversity in all of its forms.
We do this because we recognise that our superpower is our people, each and every unique individual that makes up our workforce — whose skills, backgrounds, dreams, stories and interests are all interwoven to create the rich tapestry that is our culture.
Respecting our differences
In Australia, both federal and state laws protect individuals from harassment and discrimination based on specific attributes. At Hireup, this means respecting and embracing each person, regardless of their differences including;
- race
- colour
- sex
- sexual orientation
- age
- physical or mental disability
- marital status
- family or carer's responsibilities
- pregnancy
- religion
- political opinion
- national extraction
- social origin
- breastfeeding
- gender identity
- intersex status
- experiencing family and domestic violence.
- or their association with someone who identifies with any of the above attributes.
Together, we respect these differences, celebrating the rich diversity of our community to ensure that Hireup remains a welcoming and supportive space for clients, support workers and support office employees. In living Hireup’s values, we see the whole person and treat people with kindness, respect, and dignity - approaching every interaction with empathy and understanding.
