What are Booking Requests?
We’ve updated the way you make bookings on the Hireup platform to make it easier to fill shifts quickly when your clients need support. The new booking feature saves you time and reduces back-and-forth messaging with workers.
Why are Booking Requests useful?
Before Booking Requests, Coordinators would have to log in as (or impersonate) their client to create a booking. This booking process could be time consuming: posting a job, messaging and shortlisting workers, then creating a booking with the selected worker.
Now, Coordinators have the ability to fill shifts quickly by posting once, but reaching up to 10 workers at a time for their clients. Booking Requests mean fewer follow ups, no manual chasing, and improved coverage for urgent or hard-to-fill shifts. Coordinators can now scale their bookings without extra admin burden.
How to Create a Booking Request
When creating a new Booking Request:
- Log in to Hireup on your web browser and click the ‘Request Booking’ button from your dashboard
- Select the client this booking is for from the drop down menu
- If the client selected is not yet ready to book, you will be prompted to complete the outstanding actions (for example, filling out the support plan or providing additional documentation about the clients support. You can see any outstanding actions for your Client in the “My Client” tab)
- Add the full address of the location or suburb where the booking will take place
- Add the date and time of the booking
- Add the details of the booking
- Include a finance reference if there is information that should be included on the invoice (for example, service type or service codes)
- Select up to 10 workers in your clients team, or workers from your own saved list, to send the booking request to
- Click ‘Submit Booking Request’
- Your Booking Request will then be sent to each of the workers you selected.
Managing Booking Requests
- View your Booking Requests in the "Requested" tab of Bookings Management
- See which workers have declined the request by viewing the Booking Request details
- Once a worker accepts the Booking Request, it automatically becomes a confirmed booking
Things to note
- Booking Requests are currently available on the web application only (logging into Hireup via a web browser)
- Only one worker can accept each Booking Request
- You can select a maximum of 10 workers per Booking Request
- Some workers may need to update their app to access and respond to Booking Requests
