A great way to find work on Hireup is by searching for clients in your area and sending them a message.
Using the Search page while logged in to your support worker account, you will see a full list of clients on the Hireup platform. On this page, you can select filters and search keywords to find clients that are a good fit for you.
Keywords
You can use the keyword search to look for clients with particular words in their bio. This could be related to their support needs (e.g. Autism, AUSLAN, transport), or their hobbies and interests (e.g. Music, Sport, Pets). Using keyword search, you can find clients with similar interests or who are seeking a type of support you’re comfortable providing.
Distance and Age
You can adjust the distance and age filters to suit your circumstances as well. Depending on if you live rurally or in a city, you may want to increase or decrease your search radius.
Support required
You can check these boxes to search for clients by the support type(s) selected on their profile. Please note that by selecting multiple support types, you will only see clients who have all of those supports selected.
Language
Sharing a language with a client makes it easier to build rapport and trust. You can filter your search by language, including Auslan here.
Save
The save button (marked with a star icon) is a way of shortlisting any clients you are thinking about contacting. You may wish to save clients as you’re searching, to message them later on. You can find any clients you save on this page or by selecting the saved icon from your dashboard.
Once you've found a client you're interested in working for - send them a message.
