Hireup is committed to ensuring that service delivery is of the highest quality. This is an expectation we set for ourselves, our support workers and our platform.
Hireup understands that everyone has their own unique experience when committed to their personal recovery journey. We acknowledge that recovery in mental health is a non linear process and our aim is to support and encourage individuals to meet their goals and to strive towards effective choice and responsibility while living a meaningful and connected life.
Hireup uses a mental health wellness plan in our application process that is designed to gather information specific to your mental health/psychosocial needs. This document is used as a guide for your support workers to gain a better understanding of specific support that may be needed from time to time or in the case that you may require crisis support or access to clinical supports.
We recognise that for those with specialised or complex support requirements, we need to change some of our processors and procedures to make Hireup more accessible.
These areas of support include mental health/psychosocial disability.
Pre-approval review
Clients who require specialised services with Hireup participate in a different onboarding experience to other participants. This allows us to gather all the information we need to ensure safe support on Hireup.
Pre-booking plan collection
For people with psychosocial disabilities or people who require support with their mental health, we require a completed wellness plan prior to booking a support worker on Hireup.
The wellness plan enables a client, in their own words, to tell us more about their mental health and wellness. Importantly it enables a client to outline exactly what support they require in the case of them becoming unwell or experiencing a mental health episode.
Wellness plans provide us with a snapshot of how to best support someone on the platform through:
-
Access to emergency contacts and crisis information
-
It assists us with getting an idea of a person’s level of wellness and insight into their disability.
-
It encourages safe practice for the client, support workers and Hireup support office on call.
-
Having the plan can prevent or minimise incidents, prepare support workers, encourage a safer community and allow for good mental health processes.
Once a wellness plan is received by Hireup it is reviewed by our Mental Health team. The Mental Health team will arrange a call with the client via our book-a-call system. During the call the team will discuss the client’s support needs and the wellness plan, how to get started using Hireup and answer any questions that the client may have.
Check-ins
For anybody with specialised support requirements, we’ll check in regularly to ensure they’re getting the most out of the platform and that workers are able to safely provide support.
