A sleepover shift is a booking of 12 hours, made up of 8 hours of sleep and 4 hours of additional support before and/or after sleeping.
8 hours of sleep
The 8 hours of sleep is paid at an overnight rate. The 8 hours automatically includes one hour of assistance in the price.
1 hour of assistance during sleep
On your payslip calculations, we assume that this hour of support during the night is provided towards the beginning of the sleep period (e.g. if you slept from 10pm on Wednesday to Thursday 6am, we assume any support during the night would have been on Wednesday before midnight).
2nd hour of assistance during sleep
If you are woken up for up to 2 hours during the night, there is an option to charge for a 2nd hour of active support. We assume that this 2nd hour of support occurs towards the end of the sleep period (so in the above example, Thursday morning before you wake up at 6am).
If the 2nd hour of assistance during the night was in fact towards the beginning of your sleep, please email payroll@hireup.com.au so we can correct this in your payslip.
If you are woken up and more than 2 hours of support is required during the sleeping block, then the booking will require cancelling and rebooking as an active overnight booking.
4 hours of support
The additional 4 hours of active support before and/or after sleep will be paid at the relevant time of day rate.
On weekdays, rates change according to time of day, so please refer to the pdf below to work out the exact rates for the additional 4 hours of support you book.
