The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has been rolling out in stages across the country since July 2016. The NDIS was first trialled in selected regions in 2013 and since then has become available across most of the country. As of March this year there were 277,155 people participating in the NDIS in Australia.
The NDIS rollout isn’t quite finished yet. Currently the NDIS is available in every state and territory, except for Western Australia.
As of March 2019, Western Australia had 13,000 participants enrolled in the NDIS. It has been rolled out to the metro region and the rollout across WA is happening gradually over the remainder of 2019. The NDIS rollout is set to be completed by 2020.
