The state where you intend to work will determine the type of state screening(s) you may need to hold. Examples of state screenings are a Working with Children Check or a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
To support people 18 years and over in NSW, you will need to hold a valid National Police Check. Depending on when your National Police Check was issued, you may also need the NDIS Worker Screening.
To support people under the age of 18 in NSW, you will need to meet the above requirements, as well as hold a NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) for employment purposes. As our Support Workers are paid employees of Hireup, we do not accept volunteer checks.
You may also need the NDIS Worker Screening, depending on the issue date of your WWCC. Whether you need the NDIS Worker Screening will be determined by our Applications Team upon review of your application.
WWCCs are valid for 5 years. To apply for a WWCC or to update your existing check from volunteer to employment, click here.
