Organising a meet and greet prior to booking your first shift is a great way to build trust and understanding between a support worker and a person seeking support. A meet and greet is a 15-20 minute, free of charge, catch up between the support worker and the person seeking support and is a great way to get to know each other before you make any bookings. As the meet and greet is free of charge, there is no booking made through the Hireup platform.
To organise a meet and greet, message the worker you are interested in hiring, and organise the time and location of where you would like to meet (this could be at a local café, or in your home).
During a meet and greet, the person seeking support should set expectations for their workers, including outlining what type of supports will be required and if there is any specific training required. Support workers should use this time to get to know the person you will be supporting, and to ask any questions about the support you are going to provide.
We encourage all users to do meet and greets with any new connections, to ensure you are the right match for each other!
