Arranging a meet and greet before booking your first shift is optional, and a great way to work out if the support worker or client is a good fit for you. A meet and greet is a 15 minute, free of charge, catch up between the support worker and the client. The meet and greet is free of charge, there is no booking made through the Hireup platform.
To organise a meet and greet, send a message to the worker you are wanting to work with. Set up a time and location of where you would like to meet (this could be at a local café, or virtually over a video call).
During your meet and greet, you should set expectations for your (potential) support worker by:
- outlining what type of supports you are looking for
- discussing any specific training or experience they should have
- how many hours of support you are looking for
Support workers should use this time to get to know the person you will be supporting, and to ask any questions about the support you are going to provide.
Meet and greets are a great way to build new connections and to ensure you are the right match for each other!
