If people seeking support need to cancel a shift they should try to give their support worker as much notice as possible.
We ask that you let your support worker know about the cancellation at least 48 hours before the start of the shift.
If you cancel between 2 and 12 hours before a shift your support worker is owed 2 hours pay.
For cancellations made less than 2 hours before a shift payment for the whole shift is owed to the support worker.
Support workers should also give as much notice as possible before cancelling a shift.
If a support worker cancels less than 12 hours beforehand and the person seeking support feels the explanation is not reasonable, they may notify Hireup.
If a support worker regularly misses shifts or repeatedly cancels shifts at short notice Hireup may terminate their registration.
