Hireup understands that there are unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances that may arise from time to time. We encourage all users to communicate openly with one another about their expectations and to notify Hireup if they have any questions or concerns. If a support worker calls in sick, it's up to the person seeking support to find a replacement.
Support workers should give as much notice as possible before cancelling a shift. In circumstances where the support worker gives less than 12 hours notice and the reason is not considered to be reasonable or fair, a person seeking support may notify Hireup. Support workers who regularly fail to turn up for shifts or who are repeatedly cancelling at short notice will have their employment with Hireup terminated.
